How to choose

Choose allocation first. A dedicated address is assigned to you for the term. A shared address is used by other customers at the same time. Dedicated IPs are easier to keep clean for repeated hits on one host. Shared IPs are cheaper and inherit whatever the last user did.

Plan for blocks. Open directories, public APIs, and your own origin usually accept datacenter traffic. Retail sites, search, and anything with a bot score often do not. Buy a small batch, crawl a representative URL set, and only then scale.
