How the rating works

The ranking is editorial. We compare services across four criteria, and positions cannot be bought.

  1. 01

    Reader reviews

We use average scores and review counts from independent platforms and Top Proxy. When no such reviews exist, we do not invent a rating.

  2. 02

    Current facts

Prices, country coverage, and offer readiness are checked against what the service sells now, not an outdated landing page.

  3. 03

    Accurate classification

Mobile, residential, datacenter IPv4, and IPv6 labels must match the actual IP type. Marketing names do not affect the order.

  4. 04

    Buyer experience

We consider payment access, support availability, and whether plan terms are clear before purchase.

Affiliate revenue does not change the ranking. We may earn a commission when you follow a provider link, but that cannot buy a higher position.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between residential, datacenter, mobile and ISP proxies?

Datacenter proxies come from hosting networks: fast, cheap and easy to flag. Residential proxies use household IPs from consumer ISPs and pass most reputation checks. ISP (static residential) proxies keep a consumer ASN on a stable address. Mobile proxies use carrier IPs that share address space with real phones, so they are trusted most and cost most.

Are free proxy lists safe to use?

Public lists are shared, unstable and usually already blocklisted. They are fine for testing an input format, not for accounts, payments or any traffic you do not want a stranger to see. Run every address through the checker before you rely on it.

Which proxies work best for web scraping?

Start with datacenter IPs for open pages and public documentation: they are the cheapest per request. Move to rotating residential proxies when the target scores IP reputation or blocks hosting ranges. Keep sessions sticky for multi-step flows and rotate per request for large URL lists. See the web scraping guide for a full walkthrough.

How do I check whether a proxy works and hides my IP?

Paste the list into the free checker at /en/proxy-checker. It reports whether the endpoint answers, which protocols it speaks, latency, exit country, and whether the request still exposes your real address (transparent versus anonymous or elite).

How is proxy traffic billed?

Residential and mobile plans are usually metered per gigabyte, sometimes with a monthly minimum. Datacenter and ISP proxies are more often sold per IP per month with unlimited or capped traffic. Compare the billing unit, not just the headline price: a low per-GB rate can cost more than a flat IP plan for heavy crawls.

How is SOCKS5 different from HTTP proxies?

HTTP and HTTPS proxies understand web requests and are what browsers and most scraping libraries expect. SOCKS5 tunnels any TCP traffic, so it is used by messaging clients, torrent software, game clients and custom tooling. Most providers expose both on the same endpoint; pick the one your client supports natively.

Can I use proxies for ad verification and geo testing?

Yes. Pick the country and, where it matters, the city or carrier the campaign targets, then load the page through a residential or mobile IP so ad servers treat you as a local visitor. Repeat the check after rotation so a mixed pool cannot drift out of the target region. Country pages list which providers cover each location.
